Terms and conditions
These terms apply when you join Breto Food Club and buy through bfc.dog. You accept them with the tick box at checkout, and we email you a copy with your order. Version 1, 4 October 2026.
1. Who we are
BRETO DOG CONCEPTS, S.L. (Sociedad Unipersonal), NIF B21659651, Carrer de Badajoz 65, local 2, 08005 Barcelona, registered in the Registro Mercantil de Barcelona, sheet B-631200. Email hola@bfc.dog, phone +34 937 461 395. "BFC", "we" and "us" mean this company.
2. Who can join
You must be 18 or over and live in Spain. During the beta, joining needs an invite code, and sign-up is open to postcodes in Barcelona (08001–08042), L'Hospitalet (08901–08908) and Badalona (08911–08918). One account per person. Keep your email and delivery details up to date: we sign you in with a code sent to your email, so keep that inbox to yourself.
3. What BFC is
BFC sells dog food by subscription, single boxes and shop extras, and arranges consultations with an independent veterinarian. There is no membership fee. BFC pays for every member's first consultation, one per dog. An active food subscription adds:
- 10% off the food in your boxes and the shop extras you add to them
- Chat with the BFC team from the club
If we need to change a benefit, for example because a service stops, we'll email you at least 30 days before. You can cancel before the change applies, and we never take away a benefit you have already paid for.
4. Feeding guidance: please read
Portion estimates. If you build a box yourself, BFC estimates your dog's daily energy needs and portions from what you tell us: weight, age and activity. It's an automatic calculation based on the standard energy formula vets use for dogs (resting energy times a factor for age and activity). It's automated guidance, not advice: no veterinarian has examined your dog. Treat it as a starting point. Watch your dog's weight and body shape, adjust the portions as needed, and ask your vet before changing the diet of a puppy, a pregnant or nursing dog, or a dog with a health condition. We say this next to every estimate in the club.
- Ask your own vet before relying on it if your dog is a puppy, pregnant or nursing, has a medical condition, or is under- or overweight.
- Watch your dog's weight and body shape, update the weight in the club, and adjust portions.
- Switch foods gradually, over about 7 to 10 days.
- Complementary foods, treats, toppers and supplements are not complete meals. Feed them with a complete food, and follow the feeding guide on each label.
Allergies. Allergy flags are a help, not a guarantee. They come from the ingredient lists producers give us, which can be incomplete or change. The label on the pack is what counts: always check it before feeding, especially if your dog has an allergy. Each producer is responsible for what its label says. A flag is not a diagnosis.
Chat. The BFC team answers chats. We're happy to help with the club, your orders and the food. Our replies are not veterinary advice, and a chat is not a veterinary consultation. Sometimes we ask one of our veterinarians about your question: then we'll say so and pass on their answer as they gave it. That advice is theirs, and they are responsible for it. In an emergency, call your vet.
5. Consultations with the veterinarian
Consultations are given by independent veterinarians who focus on cat and dog nutrition. The legal notice lists them with their professional details, and your booking shows who you'll see. Each works independently and alone is responsible for their professional advice and for the plans and reports they write. For every consultation, first or follow-up, the contract for the veterinary service is between you and the veterinarian. BFC is not a party to it and gives no veterinary advice: we arrange the booking, pass the veterinarian your and your dog's details, keep their plans and reports in your club account and turn their recommendations into boxes you can order. The veterinarian offers their services as a professional, so consumer law applies to your contract with them. They are responsible for the consultation, their price, their terms and any refund of their fee. We are responsible for the booking and for your boxes. Consultations are by video call. The veterinarian doesn't examine your dog in person, diagnose illness or prescribe medicines. If your dog has a health condition, they may ask for its records or ask you to see your own vet first.
- Your first consultation: BFC pays the veterinarian's fee, one consultation per dog. Book it through the club. Your right to withdraw from it ends once it has been given.
- Follow-up consultations are paid. The veterinarian sets their price and terms, and charges you directly. To arrange one, ask us in the club chat or at hola@bfc.dog. We pass them your contact details, and they tell you their price before booking it.
- Length and format. About 60 minutes for one dog and 90 minutes for more, by video call. If you and the veterinarian agree to meet in person instead, you arrange that with them.
- Changes. Reschedule or cancel a consultation with the links in your booking confirmation, at least 24 hours before.
6. Your food subscription
How it works. You choose foods for each dog and how often a box comes: every 2, 3 or 4 weeks, or another interval of up to 6 months shown at checkout. You pay for the first box at checkout. After that we charge your card automatically on each charge date and prepare the box for delivery (section 9). You can change the frequency later in the club. The subscription keeps renewing until you cancel. It must include at least one food that repeats; one food subscription per household.
Your second charge comes early. To make sure food never runs out, the first renewal is charged about a week before a full interval has passed. Checkout shows the exact date and amount before you pay, and your order email repeats them. After that, charges follow your chosen interval. If you withdraw from the subscription within the 14 days in section 10, we cancel it and refund any box charged but not yet shipped.
Reminders and changes. We email you 2 days before each charge. You can change foods, quantities, dates and frequency in the club until 09:00 (Barcelona time) on the charge day. Once charged, a box is locked and prepared.
Move, skip, pause. Move a charge to any day from tomorrow up to one interval later. Skipping moves it one interval. Pausing stops charges until you restart.
Cancel anytime. Cancel in the club at any time, with no fee and no minimum term. Cancelling stops future charges straight away. A box that has already been charged still ships and isn't refunded, but your withdrawal rights in section 10 still apply. We confirm cancellations by email.
Payment problems. If a charge fails, we email you and try again. Deliveries may wait until payment goes through. You can update your card on Stripe's secure page from the club.
Shop closures. If the shop is closed on a charge date, we may move the charge earlier and will email you.
Prices. The price of each item is fixed when you add it to your subscription. Items you swap in or add later take the current price. We only raise the price of an item already in your subscription if our costs for it go up: the producer's price, packaging, delivery or taxes. The rise is never more than our extra cost. We email you at least 30 days before, with the old price, the new price and the date. Until then you pay the old price. Before that date you can remove the item, change your box or cancel, with no fee.
7. Single boxes and shop extras
A single box is charged once at full price and nothing renews. Shop extras can be added to your next subscription box, charged with it at the member price, either once or in every box. You can also buy them on their own, through the same checkout as a single box.
Product information. Before you buy, each product shows its label information: type of food (complete or complementary), the dogs it's for, composition, analytical constituents, additives and feeding instructions. If a label isn't shown for any reason, ask us in the chat or at hola@bfc.dog and we'll send it to you before you buy. Batch, net weight and best-before date are on the pack you receive.
8. Prices and payment
Prices are in euros and include VAT (IVA): 10% on food and 21% on other products. Delivery fees are shown before you pay. We take card payments through Stripe. For a full invoice with your tax ID, email hola@bfc.dog.
9. Delivery and pickup
| Option | Where | Fee | When |
|---|---|---|---|
| Frozen delivery | Barcelona, L'Hospitalet, Badalona | €7.99, free from €79 | Next business day if you order before 16:00, otherwise two business days; in the 3-hour window you pick (10–13, 13–16, 16–19, 19–22) |
| Standard delivery | Mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands | €4.95, free from €49 | Ships in 1–2 business days, then 1–2 days in transit |
| Pickup | Breto, Carrer de Badajoz 65, local 2, Barcelona | Free | Ready 2 business hours after payment; Monday to Friday 10:00–14:00 and 16:00–20:00 |
Free-delivery thresholds count what you pay for the box, after any member discount. Business days exclude weekends, Barcelona public holidays and shop closures. We don't deliver to the Canary Islands, Ceuta or Melilla. If a pickup isn't collected after 5 days, we'll contact you.
- Frozen food must be put in the freezer as soon as it arrives. Frozen boxes leave our shop packed with insulation and ice packs and arrive within the 3-hour window you pick. Please make sure someone is home during that window to take the box, and keep your phone on. If you ask for the box to be left with someone else, such as a concierge or a neighbour, or in a place you choose, it's delivered once it's left there as you asked. From then on, getting it into the freezer is up to you, and we're not responsible if the food thaws after that. If nobody is there and the courier can't reach you by phone, the box comes back to our shop. We'll contact you to arrange a new delivery, or you can collect it from the shop. We may charge you what this costs us: the courier's charge for the failed delivery and the new one and, if the food can no longer be delivered safely frozen, the cost of that food. We'll tell you the amount before charging it. None of this applies if the courier came outside your window, didn't try to call you, or the problem was ours: then we deliver again for free.
- Check your box on arrival. If anything is damaged, thawed, missing or wrong, please tell us at hola@bfc.dog as soon as you can, ideally within 48 hours for frozen and fresh food, with a photo if you can. It helps us check with the courier; it doesn't limit your legal rights.
10. Your right to withdraw (change of mind)
You can withdraw from a purchase within 14 days without giving a reason. The 14 days start the day you, or someone you name, receive the goods. For a subscription, they start when you receive the first box.
What can't be returned:
- fresh and frozen food. It spoils quickly out of the cold, and once it has left our freezers we can't check how it was kept.
- sealed food, treats and supplements once you have opened them, for health and hygiene reasons
Sealed dry food, wet food, treats and supplements can be returned unopened.
How to withdraw. Tell us clearly within the 14 days: email hola@bfc.dog or legal@bfc.dog, call +34 937 461 395, or write to Carrer de Badajoz 65, local 2, 08005 Barcelona. It's enough to send your notice before the 14 days end. You can use the model form below, but you don't have to. The quickest way is the "Withdraw from contract here" button on your order in the club. It's there for the whole 14 days, and your order email links to it. When you use it, we email you a receipt with what you sent and the date and time. Whichever way you use, we confirm receipt by email.
Refunds. We refund everything you paid, including delivery up to the cost of our cheapest standard delivery, within 14 days of hearing from you, with no fee. We use the same payment method. We may wait until we receive the goods or proof you've sent them. Send them back within 14 days of telling us, to Breto, Carrer de Badajoz 65, local 2, 08005 Barcelona, or bring them to the shop. Return shipping is paid by you. You're only responsible for any loss in value from handling the goods more than needed to check them.
11. Faulty, damaged or wrong goods
Everything we sell must match its description and be fit to use. You have the legal guarantee of conformity under Spanish consumer law: 3 years for goods, within the product's best-before date. If something arrives damaged, thawed, wrong or past its best-before date, you choose a replacement or, where that isn't possible or reasonable, a price reduction or a refund, at no cost to you. These terms don't reduce that guarantee.
12. Our responsibility
We're responsible for what we sell and for harm we cause through our fault, as the law provides. We're responsible for turning the vet's plan into your box correctly. For a box you build yourself, our job is the calculation described in section 4, done correctly; how much to feed your dog is your decision. We're not responsible for the veterinarian's professional advice, which is theirs, or for problems from using a product against its label. We're not responsible for errors in the information producers give us, such as their ingredient lists, unless we should reasonably have spotted them. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer.
13. Your account
You can ask us to close your account and delete your data at legal@bfc.dog (see the Privacy policy). We may suspend an account used for fraud or abuse, or with unpaid charges, and will tell you why.
14. Complaints
Write to hola@bfc.dog, call +34 937 461 395 or write to Carrer de Badajoz 65, local 2, 08005 Barcelona. We confirm receipt by email with a reference number and reply within 15 days at the latest. Official complaint forms (fulls oficials de queixa, reclamació i denúncia) are available at our shop, and we'll email you one if you ask. You can also contact your local consumer office or the Agència Catalana del Consum. We are not part of the Consumer Arbitration System (Sistema Arbitral de Consumo). If we can't solve your complaint, our reply will name an out-of-court body that can deal with it and say whether we'll take part.
15. Changes to these terms
We only change these terms for a good reason: a change in the law, in what we sell or how we deliver, or to make them clearer. New versions apply to orders placed after we publish them. For an active subscription, a change applies to your renewals only after we've emailed you at least 30 days before; you can cancel before then.
16. Law and courts
Spanish law applies, including Catalan consumer law where it applies. If you're a consumer, you can bring a claim in the courts where you live.
17. How ordering works
- Choose foods for each dog on the box screen, or pick a single box or shop extras.
- At checkout, enter or confirm your delivery address, phone, delivery method and slot.
- Check the summary: what you're buying, the total with VAT and delivery, and for a subscription the next charge date and amount. Go back or edit any field to correct mistakes before paying.
- Tick the box to accept these Terms and pay by card.
- We email you a confirmation with your order and a copy of these Terms.
These terms are in English. Spanish and Catalan versions are on their way. Until then, we're happy to answer your questions in Spanish or Catalan. We keep a record of your order and of the version of the Terms you accepted; ask us at hola@bfc.dog for a copy.
